Shoulder osteoarthritis research priority setting study

We would love to hear what you would like research to find out about shoulder joint osteoarthritis.

Researchers from the University of Queensland in Australia are teaming up with Professor Ben Darlow at the University of Otago - Wellington and other shoulder osteoarthritis researchers, charities, healthcare professionals and people living with the condition to conduct a Shoulder Osteoarthritis Research Priority Setting Partnership (SOAR) using James Lind Alliance methods.

This process involves identifying and then ranking research questions to create a research priority "top 10". The study includes people with shoulder OA, their carers and healthcare practitioners. We would like to invite you to take part in the first step- this involves sharing your clinical uncertainties and any research questions you would like to be answered via a brief online survey. It takes 5 minutes to complete and the survey will be open until 10th October 2025.

The link to the survey is here

You can find out more about the study or get in touch through our main website.

Many thanks for your help which will help ensure the views and priorities of the community are heard and help inform research funders.

Best regards,

Dr Jonathan Quicke (The University of Queensland) on behalf of the SOAR project team.
