Otago Shoulder Health study
Seeking participants in Dunedin and Christchurch
Update 16th November 2023: Recruitment for this study has now been completed.
It is now one year since we launched the Pokihiwi Mārōrō - Otago Shoulder Health website. Thank you for all those who have accessed the website and who have contacted us.
We are very pleased to announce that we have a new study to find out whether manual therapy offers additional benefits for people with rotator cuff related shoulder pain (subacromial shoulder pain), when added to evidence-based physiotherapy care.
We are seeking people aged 35 years or older, with shoulder pain that has lasted 3 months or longer. People who have had a shoulder fracture around the joint, a shoulder dislocation, past shoulder surgery, or frozen shoulder unfortunately are not eligible. Physiotherapy treatment (8 sessions over 3 months) will be provided at the School of Physiotherapy Clinics in Christchurch and Dunedin.
This study is funded by a Stanley Paris Fellowship, School of Physiotherapy, University of Otago.
